Sasitharan Nair Gurukal started his career as
a Gurukal
or Priest on the 1st May 1996. Prior to his appointment,
he was sent to India to take up courses related
to his profession. He also finished a 3 month
course at the Pillayar
Patti Karpaga Vinayagar Temple
in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India in 1995 before
taking the first step in 1996. His guru is Shiva
Shri Manoharan Gurukal.
As a disciple to the
great guru Shiva Shri Manoharan Gurukal, he was
exposed
to various types of prayers and mantra chanting
observed by the Hindu community. He was invited
to perform the Kumbabishegam for the Sri Murugan
Temple in Labis, Johor in 1999. He also gained
more experience when he performed the 1008 Sangabishegam
and the Kumbabishegam for the Sri Maha Mariamman
Temple in Kota Tinggi in year 2001.

Apart
from these events, he has vast experience in conducting
marriages,
house warming ceremonies, Thevasam and Thiruvizhas
(Temple festivals). Till this date he has conducted
over 200 marriage ceremonies, approximately 300
house warming ceremonies, around 400 Thevasam and
200 over
Thiruvizhas all around Malaysia, Singapore and
even in Indonesia.
